I'm sorry that this is short. I'm on a sick day

Dear Laura, Mercy, and Rose,

This might be a short post. I'm home with the dog while mom sleeps, and I'm sick. I fainted yesterday and then threw up and then spent the whole night fighting between shivering to death and burning up. So I'm watching Season 1 of Downton Abbey and ITS THE CREEPY SCENE WITH THOMAS AND THE DUKE AND I CANT HANDLE THIS. Okay it's over. I'm good. Wait, I'm confused now. I don't remember this and I'm confused. And my head is starting to hurt.

Anyway, Laura, I loved your springy post and it made me love the sunshine so much more.

Mercy, Dan + Shay are my favorite. The end.

Rose, your Shakespeare was incredible and I just need to watch The Book Thief.

Because I don't want to be punished, I'm going to try and write a post even though I'm tired, have a headache, and I'm trying to get the dog to behave. So what to write about? How about how I miss Laura and Rose a ton. We should stay together sometime this summer because I have very nice memories from February and I want to do that again sometime. I want I write more creepy songs and add to the poster/aisle runner. I want to make amazing food and talk about drink disasters and hopefully get around to making one. Or twenty. Because we are amazing. That's pretty much the only thing I can say. We are utterly insane, totally creepy people but we are awesome. And I really rather enjoy hanging out with every single one of you.

So although this is really rather short and there wasn't much point, I'm going to say goodbye and I can't wait to read what you all have to say next week because I know all your posts will be far better than this one. <3 Grace

I just want to stand in a corner and feel. Is that so wrong?

I'm drinking coffee and wearing my pajamas and the sun is shining and it's hump day!

Just his face and nope nope nope.

OKAY JENSEN ACKLES JUST POPPED UP ON MY DASHBOARD WHILE I WAS SCROLLING AROUND FOR INSPIRATION AND JUST NOPE NOPE NOPE. Anyhoo (I hate when people say that. It only works when you're from Minnesota. I am not from Minnesota.) OH THERE HE IS AGAIN! Okay, I need to log out of Tumblr and focus. Okay. Okay, I'm going to reply to your posts now.

I really want to freak out about Shakespeare, because well, it's my Wednesday. (Kind of, not really. I don't own Wednesday, that would be....) anyway, Willy Shakes.

So I've been thinking about Shakespeare lately for 2 reasons:

  1. I wrote a paper last week about Shakespeare.
  2. I've had Sigh No More, from Much Ado About nothing stuck in my head.

And now I just want to talk in Shakespearean. But people would look at me like I was crazier than an escape mental asylum patient. I hate the world. Anyway, I've decided now I'm going to talk in Shakespearean while I reply to your posts. Okay?

Graceland: Shall I compare your last post to summers day? There have been none so lovely and temperate. Rough wind dare not shake the lovely words thou wrote, upon this last Thorsday. And summer's lease hath all too short a time to stare at your adorable puppy. (Sonnet XVII, kinda)

Laurence: I was all too shock'd to  read thy post last Monday. I hath looked upon it with a regular eye, expecting it to be as long as the hair Rapunzel hath, and I was a prolong'd state of astonishment when it endth swiftly as though it had been cutteth in half. Regardless of my upset, I thought twas a fine post that I enjoy'd with all mine heart.

MercyQ: Thou didst write a post with much passion but last evening. Thou didst post the loveliest of songs. It made my heart go all aflutter and my mind rethink my dearest hate for country music. And the wonderful portrait of dancing Mexicans, ah! It was like seeing the Mexican god of perfection dancing to fiesta music.

Anyway (not anyhoo because I'm not from Minnesota), Mercy said in her post yesterday that I should write a Book Thief movie review and even though I don't enjoy conforming to the various wants and needs of others, I'm going to conform to the wants and needs of Mercy because she is my wifey and I'm pretty sure the bible says to do that. I think. So here goes nothing.

The Book Thief was really great movie. I definitely recommend reading the book first because they did miss some stuff. They didn't miss anything major, but there was some stuff that they skipped. But you have to keep in mind it's a 500 page book they can't do everything. Come to think of it actually, I think this is the first time in forever (now that song is going to be stuck in my head) I liked a movie that was based off a book. Weird. Moving right along, they got all of the characters perfectly, my only complaint is that Rosa could have been a little more cardboard-y, but whatever. AND THE GUY WHO PLAYS MAX! OH. MY. GOODNESS. Just nope. Anyway, all in all I thought it was the best book that got turned into a movie that I have ever seen.

On the subject of books-to-movies, THE FAULT IN OUR FREAKING STARS COMES OUT IN 57 DAYS! YES THAT'S RIGHT 57! I'm scared and excited and nervous but happy and

Thinking about these 57 days just makes me want to reread TFIOS. BUT I HAVE 3 BOOKS THAT I HAVE TO FINISH AND STUPID SCHOOL AND I CAN'T.

Okay, I am okay. OKAY? STUPID WORD. STUPID JOHN GREEN. STUPID LIFE. STUPID AIR STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPIDSTUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID.

Anyway, I just need to take a minute and calm down.

Okay. I'm fine. I think. Hopefully. Most likely. Probably. Definitely. Well I shouldst bounceth for I have to shower. Sorry this post was so unorganized. Grace, I'm looking forward to your post tomorrow! -Rosie.

Country music is the bomb.com

Goooooodd morning gurls, it's....

Looook it's The Foursome! There's Grace, with the blonde hair, playing guitar... and Laura with the maracas, and me with the trumpet, and you know me- I'd probably do something weird like dye my hair red.. and then Rosie is obviously the bean because only she would make up a dance like that.. *cough* The Conductor Dance *cough*
AND OH MY GOSH I just realized that I'm a fish taco!! That's awesome. I love fish.

I literally loved all your posts!
Laura, I am equally excited for spring and I can't wait to get tan and I started working out so I can get that skinny body for summer.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAH THAT'S A FUNNY ONE!!
Okay so I actually did start working out... cuz I take this class at school called Cultural Dance and for warm-up's we do 48 crunches, we do planks and push-ups, and then we do splits, not to mention all the stretching and stuff before hand, and that's just warm-up. After that. we do our African dance routine and our hip-hop dance routine. It's a lot of work.
And I mean, it's fun. But it's a lot of work. I hate crunches.

Anyway- Laura, you're right- country music is like the best ever. But I'll get to that later.

Gracie, I agree that Millie is a bundle of adorable furriness, but she also chews everything and poops everywhere, including on my FAVORITE PAIR OF PAJAMAS PANTS, THAT, ON THE DAY AFTER THEY CAME OUT OF THE WASH SHE DECIDED TO GET POOP ON THEM!
I did NOT appreciate that.
*glares at Millie, then stops because she's just too darn adorable to be glaring at*

Rosie, your post was funny and foot-notey and I loved all the fun facts about the presidents and I just overall enjoyed it very much.

Okay. So. Country music.
I stinking LOVE country music. So much.

AND SINCE DAN+SHAY'S BEAUTIFUL ALBUM IS NOW OFFICIALLY OUT, IT'S NOW ON YOUTUBE SO I CAN SPAM YOU WITH MY FAVORITE SONGS OH MY GOSH THIS MAKES ME HAPPY.

I literally cannot help but cry every time I hear this song because it's so sweet and adorable and their voices are like magical honey blossoms of love and rainbows and butterflies that just soak through your headphone and into your mind and make you want to curl up in your bed and drink tea and read a cute romance novel- because we're single ladies here who don't have boyfriends  strong independent young women who don't NEED NO MEN.  MMM GURL.

Anyway. Dan and Shay literally just... I can't even.. just.. UGH.
I might be going to another Hunter Hayes concert, right, and I SWEAR. IF DAN AND SHAY OPEN FOR HIM AGAIN I WILL LITERALLY FALL ONTO THE FLOOR FROM UNCONTROLLABLE FEELS.
*Takes deep breath to calm self.*
*Doesn't work*
*Cries a little*
*Moves on*

Another Dan and Shay song I love (I mean I freakin love them ALL buuuttt-)

So catchy and adorable and mmm I just love it so much.
Also this one.

I JUST LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH I JUST WANT TO LISTEN TO THEM ALL, ALL THE TIME!

Okay. I'm done.

Laura and Rose! I heard you two watched The Book Thief MOVIE today?? HOW WAS IT?! I'm still waiting for Grace to finish the book so I can read it..... but please tell me what you thought of the movie! Did it follow the book? Was the cast well cast? I NEED TO KNOW YOUR REVIEWS!

Anyway. I don't really have anything else to say, so I should probably just end this!
Basically, I love tacos and country music and movie reviews. Yep.
Rosie, I can't wait to read your Book Thief Movie Review   post tomorrow!
PEACE OUT, GIRL SCOUTS!
xoxo, Mercy

Springtime, country music, and white lace dresses (also my redneck ex-husband)

switching it up from Olan because I'm whimsical like that ;)
Good afternoon gurls!
Well, it's happening- spring is springing! I always think spring just pops up all green and warm and flowery, but every year it slowly creeps up on the dead ashes of winter, taking forever but totally worth it :)
I loved all your posts from last week. Mercy, thank you for posting that Dan + Shay song. Guess what it did? It rekindled my long-buried country music obsession. I'm listening to my brand new Hunter Hayes station on Pandora as I write this (Eli Young Band isn't half bad!). Here's some Scotty McCreery that takes me back to sophomore year:
Basically, in 10th grade my friend Chris and I were married. This was our song. He drives a truck and makes his own maple syrup. It didn't work out, but we're friends now after the divorce.
Roooooose! Your post made me want to reread An Abundance of Katherines. The footnotes totally confused me but I loved all the Psych GIFs.
And Gracie darling- I'm going to steal Millie. I love her already and I haven't even met her. I love all the pictures you've sent me, and I'm sure she's a handful, but an adorable one.
Anyway. Back to springtime. This past week has made me undeniably happy- yes, I was sick and isolated and overwhelmed by schoolwork, but the weather was in the 50's and the sky was a cloudless, deepening blue. I sat out in the hammock, wore flip-flops, and finished the Return of The King as the April sun set (yes, I cried, but my sinuses were inflamed and that ending was too beautiful). It's amazing how happy warmer weather can make me after a cold winter. I wore a dress to church yesterday, and spent the rest of the afternoon with my crazy neighbor and Rosie, walking all over town and drawing with sidewalk chalk and party-hunting like silly little girls, wild and carefree and full of laughter. Today, I have a sunburn.
It's finally beautiful again. In the winter I become this ghostly pale, introverted pessimist with cold little hands. My hands are still cold, but I'm tan and loud again, looking forward to Easter and letting Tim McGraw make me cry. And all my friends are making their college decisions and getting ready for prom, and I'm honestly relieved not to have much of that to stress over, but happy for them because it's senior year, and I'm older and wiser and have a cool enough haircut to stop being petty and bitter, able to laugh with them as we say goodbye to this forever phase of life.
Okay. I love Blake Shelton. His lyrics tell the best stories.
Anyway, I'm so looking forward to this season. I can't wait to celebrate Greek Easter in my white lace dress with my mom's crazy family, to watch Mary-Kate graduate college and attend her nurse's pinning, to graduate myself and have an awkward graduation party, to see The Fault in Our Stars with you gurls and bawl my eyes out. There's going to be final school projects and (ugh) college orientation and VBS music practices, but there will be days when I can read in the backyard while tanning and have picnics and wear shorts and t-shirts again. And for those days I am so freakin excited.
Mercy, I really can't wait to read your post again. I love how unashamedly Mercyish you are- don't you ever change. Also, keep posting music and bands and lyrics, because this country music kick I'm on is all because of you, and for that I am eternally grateful.
--Laura :)

I think I might be in love

It's Thorsday. So behold.... a beautiful picture of Thor. Though it is awkwardly long and is going to make an awkwardly awkward space which is why I am writing an awkwardly long, rather awkwardly grammatically incorrect sentence with no sort of contractions (is that what they are called?) because I am trying to fill the space in so just bear with me cause I am just kind of awkward and I know that you are all probably rolling your eyes (especially Mercy) at how awkward and grammatically incorrect this sentence is and how there has been about one comma. well build a bridge and get over it because I think I'm done.                                                                                                                                                                                Except I'm not. I'm going to switch things up and post my post first and then reply to y'all. Just thought I'd let you know. so you don't get all freaky on me. just calm down yo.                                                            Also, Captain America comes out tomorrow (he's kind of like Thor right?) and all my friends are going to the midnight premier (except actually the 10pm showing) and I'm not and I may or may not be super jealous. Okay so I'm actually super jealous.
Girls, I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly happy this dog has made me in the past 2 days. She's so sweet and lovable and yet she gets so playful and she wants to do is chase you around and nip at your hands and anything else that comes close to her mouth. And even though my feet are super gross from running outside barefoot about 10 times a day to let her poop, my hands have that weird dog smell and I think our house is picking it up too, my mom talks to the dog more than anyone else, I don't get much school done because of her, and I spent the day clearing the yard so that she wouldn't get into stuff she's not supposed to, I still adore her. She farts when she sleeps and makes whole rooms smell like poop. She's constantly eating or sleeping (something I've very jealous of). My pants have pee on them and my sweatshirt got poop all over it. And when mom works, I'll have to get up at 7am to let her out and get her breakfast. But I really don't care. Because when she sits on my lap so she's comfortable while she chews her bone, or sleeps under the bench while I practice piano for an hour or jumps up at me the second she wakes up from her nap because she's so excited... *dies*

she's an amazing snuggling partner... if you can get her hold still for 4 seconds together

she's also a fantastic dancer and enjoys listening to Taio Cruz the best

And now to reply to all the past lovely posts.

I will say it again because I'm not sure if we made it clear yet, but the 100th post was epic. It really was just like an unfiltered conversation and I'm not sure how smart it was to put something like that on the internet... but yolo right? But I did feel really weird not writing a post by myself. Oh well. I got over it.

Laura, I enjoyed your post because it was quite beautiful and sad. Unlike Mercy, it did not make me want to be a senior. I have been feeling lately that I quiet enjoy the age I am now. Yeah, school is hard and friends are overly dramatic and stressful. But I'm not at the point where I need to leave yet and I'm okay with that. I think that the teenage years are the least utilized years of a persons life. Teenagers are known as lazy, selfish, stupid, and demanding. We're supposed to sit on our phones all day, date around, have no idea what we want to do with our lives or have crazy fantasies that we think will come true in which we know for certain what we want to study, who we're going to marry and how we're going to spend the rest of our life... but not until we graduate. Because why would we want to do anything before then? (sarcasm intended)
Girls, I don't want to grow up and realize that I went to college just because all my friends were doing it. I don't want to realize that I got a degree in something that I can never use or never want to use, just because people were expecting me to get it. I don't want to look back and realize that I made no difference in the world. Or worse, realize that I made a bad difference. I don't want to go with the flow of other teenagers. I want to know that I did what I did because I wanted to and it was for the benefit of other people. I want to know that when I had opportunities to do things, I seized those opportunities and didn't regret it. I want to cherish the friendships I have now because one day they might be gone. And I'm not saying that you can only live when you're a teenager and as soon as you move into your twenties you're an old person who can't do anything. or that once you go to college, you're suddenly out of touch with everything. I guess what I'm trying to say is that: I'm satisfied with where I am in life, and I want to live it up and make a difference for good and enjoy myself while doing it and not care if it's not the norm. And as I grow up and move onto new cities, new friends, new opportunities, I hope I'll be ready and just as excited as I am now. And next year when I'm trying to decide where I should go to school (or if I should go to school at all), I hope that I'm ready and that I don't regret the things I did or didn't do while in high school and that I lived my high school years to the fullest and made as many memories as possible. If this makes sense. Maybe it makes no sense at all. only in my head.

Mercy, I freaking love Dan + Shay and I'm so excited for summer and maybe I think you should buy me a hard copy of their CD for my birthday. Okay? okay *cries* and music is pretty much my favorite thing ever. as you already know. I always feel kind of weird writing this part to you because we live together and you already know everything.

Rose, I love love loved your post. I liked the John Green footnotes. And all the president facts. it was like a super interesting history lesson. And the Psych GIFs. holy cow I miss that show so much and it's only been about a week. maybe more. we're not quite sure *cries*

Okay, I have to go write for Camp NaNo so I'll just leave you with one last picture of my baby <3 Grace

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

This post is full of footnotes because I'm rereading An Abundance of Katherines.

It's hump day!

This is my favorite Supernatural gif of all time.

I'm going to reply to your posts now because I can't decide what to write about.

The 100th post was fantastic and beautiful and ASDFGHJKL;'

Laura: Your post was lovely, and yeah I've heard all of your college rants nine million times over, but it was still beautiful. And you're not the only one looking forward to you going away to school.1

Mercy: Your post was lovely. Especially all of the Harry Styles gifs. AND I HAVE A WEIRD STORY TO TELL ABOUT THE IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS SONG:  So Laura and I heard that song like a year ago randomly on the radio and we were like "What is this?" Well, Laura was like "What is this?" I was like: "I love this song because it's so weird and beautiful!" And then we didn't hear it for a really long time and then we weirdly heard it again last fall. That's my story about the If I Had a Million Dollars song.

So, as I previously mentioned, it's hump day. And it's my hump day2 so I'm going to post about something no one wants to hear about: Shanko! The Musical. Yes it's true. I'm writing an entire musical all about Grace's dear father.  Well, actually, I'm just writing to script, Laura's writing the music3 It's really great. It will probably never win a Tony, because it is for the Foursomes eyes only, but it's still really fun to write. I like writing for fun. I guess I never really write just because I can. I mean this blog is fun most of the time, but sometimes when I'm upset4 , it just seems like a chore. I swear I love it most of the time though. I swear on Jaquan's grave5  that I love this blog. But writing Shanko The Musical is just different. It's more...creative? I don't really know, I just know that writing down the fantastically weird things6  that come out of my mind is really fun. And Shanko The Musical is a true testament to the weird things that come out of my mind.

Annnnnnyyyyyyyway, you know how I'm celebrating all of the presidents birthdays?7  Well, I've decided to make a list of all of the hilarious presidential stories I've learned in the last 2 months.
  • I knew before I started this project, but William Howard Taft was the largest8  president, right? He was the definition of large and in charge. He was so large that one day he was taking a bath and he got stuck in the bathtub and they had to replace the bathtub with a tub big enough to fit 4 men. Basically, Tafty was Jaquan.
  • Herbert Hoover was one of the most hated presidents of all time. He was so hated in fact, that  the people named an asteroid after him.
  • William McKinley's wife  hated the color yellow so much that she had every yellow item removed from the White House before she moved in
  • George H.W. Bush was the first president to publicly refuse to eat broccoli.
  • In celebration of George Washington's birthday, Andrew Jackson once invited people into the White House to consume a 1,400 pound wheel of cheese. It took the the estimated 10,000 people 2 hours to consume the huge wheel of cheddar.
  • George W. Bush owned the Texas Rangers before he became president.
  • Ulysses S. Grant once got a speeding ticket while riding a horse.
I could go on but I can feel all of you getting bored.

Now I'm going to spam you with a million gifs of Pysch and call this post done.

This post is done. Grace, I'm looking forward to your post tomorrow! And you guys have a dog now? WHAT IS AIR? Well bye. -Rosie

1 Please excuse this last sentence it didn't really make grammatical sense.
2 I am not actually in possession of Wednesday, God is. I just wanted to make that clear.
3 We're like Rogers and Hammerstein!
4 What does Grace call it? The silent hurricane, I think?
5  Which is a pretty large place to be swearing on, if you know what I mean.
6  They're actually not fantastic. They're just weird.
7  Because it all goes back to the presidents with Rose.
8  Fattest.

I'm so done with this lyric thing. But I'm actually in a really good mood!

Good morning, gurls- it's TUESDAAYYY.
(I'm giving y'all a fair warning now- this post will contain a lot of music. Because I'm in a really good mood today)

HEAAATT OF THE MOMENT! Happy April Fools, everyone :)
I don't have any good April Fools jokes right now... but you never know.. ;)

I loved all of your posts last week (and yesterday, in Laura's case.)
Laura's, yours made me want to be a senior and be heading off to college, instead of.... into Sophomore year. Ew. But maybe it'll be better than Freshman year has been. Hopefully.
The 100th post, as Laura said, was fantastical. I think I could've done a better job wrapping it up, but whatever. It was still beautiful.
ROSIE- your post made me laugh and I just loved it and it was true. And creepy. But true.

So, I'm actually in a really good right now- why, you may ask?
The answer= Music. Musicmusicmusic.
Well, that's not all.

1- Music.
Two new albums of two of my favorite bands came out today/over the weekend and I've been listening to their glorious melody's every chance I can get. I'll talk more about them later, though.

2- The weather is beautiful today! Unlike yesterday- *rolls eyes*- when it decided to snow- ugh, I was so upset, I almost started crying. No lie.

3- We're getting our puppy tomorrow. And I mean, y'all know me- I really don't like dogs that much.
EXCEPT MILLIE, CUZ SHE'S THE DARN CUTEST THING EVER. End of story.

4- It's April. Which means- SPRING. And warm weather and sun and bare feet and enjoyable breezes and everything else beautiful that spring brings. And I could not be more happy.

So yeah. I'm super happy right now.
Now's the time for the part of the show when Mercy expresses her emotions through GIF's.

I love Full House

Now. On to that incredible music I was talking about.

Number uno

These dorks. 5 Seconds Of Summer. Their EP came out today, and I had already pre-ordered it so I got it this morning on iTunes and ahhhhh I could not be more proud of them, oh my goodness. There's only 4 tracks on the album (I mean, it's in EP so that makes sense..) but they're all perfectly wonderful and I love them so much.

Number dos.

Dan+Shay! I stinking love these two so much. Grace and I first discovered them when they opened for Hunter Hayes at his concert we saw at The Big E and we've since then become obsessed with them. They're not that famous, although you might be familiar with their single '19 You + Me'

It plays on the country radio sometimes and it's beautiful and perfect.

Their debut album, Where It All Began, just came out this weekend and I love literally every. single. track. It's on Spotify and it's absolutely perfect. Like, you could not have asked for a better album, in my opinion.

And look at theeemmm, they're so cute(:
and they both play guitar<3 and sing.

Okay, aside from that I don't really have anything else to say... except.. that you should definitely listen to this song cuz it's so funny and makes me laugh.

The video is really random, don't pay attention to it. Just listen to the lyrics. My favorite part is:

Maybe we could put put a little tiny fridge in there somewhere
*Spoken* We could just go up there and hang out.
Like open the fridge and stuff, and there'd be foods laid out for us
With little pre-wrapped sausages and things. Mmmmm.
They have pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon.
Well can you blame them. Yeah

So great.

Anyway, I know this post is sort of random, but I'm sort of random, so its works!
Harry Styles time. I regret nothing.

One just because you need it. and he's freakin adorbs

Another because I mean, look at his bicep.

and this one because one time he tried to wave with one hand
and sing with the other and literally got his hands confused and I just think
that's the most hilarious and adorable thing ever because who does that?

Rosie, I can't wait to read your post tomorrowwww!

Okay that's all. I'm going to go listen to Beyonce now and pin One Direction things on Pinterest okay bye.
xoxo, Mercy
