An ode to my future loony bin inmates ;)

Hi.
I just realized I don't have a signature greeting line. That needs to happen. I want you girls to come up with one for me this week as a birthday present (7 days baby!!!).
Before I get started, I believe I promised Mercy I'd let her know how I feel about last night's episode of Downton Abbey in this post. All I'm saying is I believe I'm quite falling out of love with the show, and some of its recent themes may or may not have upset and convicted me and reduced me to tears. I'm too sensitive to the realness of life, and the fact that I take a TV drama so seriously is probably not a good thing, therefore I'm trying to back off on my fangirling over that show.
But, heyyy, I still love you girls, which is all that matters. We can still be friends even if I'm jumping the hardcore Downton ship, in the same way that we have gotten along thus far despite my fascination with genetics and heredity. And I still might watch the show, just not watch the show, in the same way that y'all might help me make Punnet squares with my genes and my someday husband's genes when, in the very distant future, we have kids. You just won't help me.
Moving right along, I wanted to make this post more about the other three-quarters of the Foursome, since this is supposed to be like a letter to you girls, and who wants to read a letter that is not about them? I don't know about you, but I'm kind of tired of hearing Laura talk about herself all the time (much like the serial killer, Ted Bundy, Laura finds it easier to confess things about herself when she talks in third person).
Mercy and Rose- your posts were equally as honest about the horrors of high school, as well as equally wonderful in their abundance of GIFs. It's as if you two have the same brain but VERY VERY SEPARATE personalities. You think so much alike it scares me, yet at the same time you are so different, which scares me even more. Promise me you will never change.

this is you two, dying from Inappropriate Laughing Syndrome

Grace- I feel like I never give your posts enough credit. Your last one was especially fantastic, and your incredible talent at putting thoughts into words is inspiring. I assure you I'm not just saying that to be nice, and there are people with more legitimate opinions than mine who would agree. Anyone, even domesticated gorillas, can put words on paper or type on a blog, but to be able to really write, to give someone that poignant, nostalgic feeling which resonates throughout their body like sunrise over mountains, is talent indeed. And, gurl, you can write.

this is us. Idk who is who. We have both been one for the other at different times I think.

Not to say that the Dream Team are bad writers. You are both at a very unique, awkward time of your lives, and I love to hear Mercy's colorful take on being productively unproductive, and Rosie's sassy comebacks for the people she dislikes but never says what she really thinks to their faces. Part of me is really excited to think about us four in a year, or five
years, or twenty, yet the sentimental side of me (the same side that melted down when Anna got raped on Downton) wants everything and everyone to stay exactly the same, for us to remain a picture-perfect memory of four crazy girls forever.
I know that's not possible. We'll all get older (and hopefully taller) and go to college probably, and maybe end up living across the globe from each other instead of across the state. But even when that happens, I know I'll never regret the time we've wasted so productively together. All the late-night laughter and dancing in the kitchen in our pajamas and huddling under blankets while watching our favorite movies- each of those moments has become a picture in my mind, each ascribed to a page in my mental scrapbook. And I couldn't thank you girls enough for that :)

yeah, I feel like this describes us pretty well. We've all been a different one of the Minions at different times ;)

So, don't forget to be awesome. Keep calm and carry on. Because it's gonna be totally awesome, I can feel it.
Also, pray for me, because *PLOT TWIST* I'm going on a missions trip over Spring Break. G&M, you should get the support letter soon, and Mercy, I'll see you tomorrow.

This is not a depressed post

Dear lovely people,

Laura, I thoroughly enjoyed your post on Monday. It was great. :)

Mercy and Rose, gosh I could rant about high-schoolers forever. I sometimes wonder why I'm friends with the people I'm friends with. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends but sometimes they stress me out so much with their drama. And I know I need to listen to it and help them as best I can but sometimes I can't. actually last week I was so stressed out with life that I stopped talking to one of my friends and instead of the drama going away like I hoped it would, it just built up around me and became worse. After apologizing for being a jerk and talking to him again I found the drama ceased some. So don't ignore your friends. even if their problems seem silly, insignificant, or down right stupid to you. But I do enjoy how we can have a pretty normal, not dramatic (kinda) friendship.

So this I actually wrote.... yesterday? Tuesday?

(ALERT ALERT WEE OO WEEOOO! This blog post consists of free thought writing and open honesty. It's rambely and might not make sense.)

I live with people. And people live with me.

and I don't know why this suddenly occurred to me. well I do. I'm writing a short story for school and I used that line and then I stopped to think about it for a minute and of course because I over think to much and over analyze everything I couldn't just let it go and keep going with school I had to start writing down what I was thinking. So here it goes

I live with people. People live with me.

yeah I've always know that I share a house, an address, with others but I'd never really thought about how people actually live with me. They live there lives, incorporating me into it. And they seem to like me. I mean, Laura and Rose, you two lived with me for two weeks last year and seemed to like me so much that we're going back in February. And it seems odd that someone would like me enough to live with me. I'm quiet, moody, upset, flawed, ugly, stupid, confused, unsure, sinful person. All the way around. Now maybe I present someone who looks put together, happy, confident, funny and (I might even add) pretty. But when I look at myself I see everything I listed first. I see the insides. All the thoughts that scramble through my mind on a regular basis. All the thoughts I think when I look in the mirror. All the times I’ve messed up. Said something stupid. Hurt someone. Hurt myself. And most of the time I hate myself. Sometimes I actually think I’m pretty cool. Right now I think I’m pretty cool because I’m being myself. I'm presenting a honest, open and pained person. On the internet. For anyone to read. For my mom to read. For that cute guy to read. For strangers to read. For my best friends to read. And that’s scary. But that’s okay. I want you guys to read this. I want you to know that I'm just as messed up and confused as the other three-fourths of the foursome. And I want myself to come to the realization that even if I'm screwed up and terrified that’s okay.

Because people still like me.

people live with me.

they don't just put up with me, maybe sometimes they do, but for the most part they actually seem okay with living me me. and that makes me happy. Because it makes me realize that I’m not alone. And it makes me happy to know that others aren't alone. Cause I get to live with them and all their imperfections. I like seeing others imperfections because it makes me know that I’m not alone. I like seeing others feel the same way I feel. Unsure, confused, scared of the world. Which is why I like this blog so much. I wouldn't put a post like this on my blog just to blab to the internet and everyone on it, but I will put it up here because I know who I’m specifically talking to and I know you girls can relate. I know that you feel the same way and that you'll shower me with GIF's of Christopher Eccelston. No I’m not feeling depressed. I’m actually feeling content and happy. Happy to know that people live with me. and like it. And the best part of this is that they're exactly like me. And I don't have to be scared of presenting the real me to them.

Now I was trying to find something awesome to put at the end of this post just because I wrote this yesterday it feels like I didn't post today. Even though I am posting... I just didn't write it right now. so it feels weird. ANYWAY. I was trying to find something awesome so where did I look? The Vlogbrothers on Youtube. because they try and not forget to be awesome.. but instead I found The Lizzie Bennet Diaries and I shall now spend the remaining time till we leave to go out for dinner, watching these vlogs. I hope you all have a fantastic Thursday night, a fantastic weekend, and Laura, we shall see you on Monday. <3 Grace

I can't name this post because it's about nothing.

It's hump day!

Anyway, I'm going to rant today. I know, I know, you're not surprised. I rant every week, blah blah blah. But, it goes along with Mercy's last post, kinda. But I thought I should warn you first. There, you've been warned. So here it goes.

I just hate high school. Not the school part, because I always dislike school, but the people, oh my goodness. I can't. Just stop. Just no. ASDFGJK;. I hate stupid high school drama. And stupid high school students. And just high school. I've been trying to be more positive about it, an it's worked, and then I went to youth group last night, and that fell apart. I just can't deal with stupid people. Just no. Just stop. fdksdfgdf. I can't. I just can't. Why can't people just stop? I can't. Needless to say, yesterday sucked. But today my cousin came over and brought me chocolate and I found this letter that I've been looking for, so today kinda made up for it. Kinda.

Anyway, I should probably stop ranting. And Annie just asked me to watch Mean Girls with her, and I can't refuse an offer like that.

This post is really short so I'll make up for it with a ton of gifs...wait isn't that what I do every week? Whatever, I'd better not break the cycle.

AND I'M PERFECT!

Yes, they are all Supernatural gifs. That was intentional. You really should watch this show so I have someone to fangirl with. Not to mention they're beautiful. And make weird gifable faces all the time. Anyway, I need to bounce. Grace, I look forward to your post tomorrow!!!! -Rosie

I'm not going to complain.

Good morning girls, it's Tuesday!

Laura, I really liked your post, a lot. The picture thing it totally true and the rest of it just reminded me how much I need to start living for Christ and not myself or my friends.
But, not to be rude or anything, that is not what my post will be about today. Well, not really.

I never really took it into consideration how much High School would really suck. This past summer, I was all like 'Oh yeah, Imma be a freshman, ain't I cool, this'll be fuuunn!'

Nope.

I mean, I have enjoyed The Academy more than I can put into words- it's an amazing school, I've already learned a ton, I've made friends, I'm having fun and every day is a new experience.
But the rest of my high schooling... ugh. I don't mind doing school cuz I mean, it's normal and stuff and I have to do it. But just being a High Schooler completely sucks.
As I ranted to Laura, erm, last night I think- Everyone is treating me like an adult, all my friends come to me to solve their issues and I'm like, I appreciate it, but I'm only 14. What do I know about anything? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I'm sheltered, introverted, not that smart and honestly just not experience at all. Why are you asking me these questions you expect to get answers on? I mean, I'll help you if you want, because maybe I can help you-doubt it- but seriously, don't except good, smart, wise or profound answers or advice from me. Like seriously, I've actually done this before:

Like I'm not kidding, ask Grace. Just base my maturity level off that ^ then you can ask me for advice. If you still want to. That's all I have to say on the subject.

I mean, there are good things about being a Freshman. Not that I can think of any at the moment. But I'm sure there are some.

For now, just listen to this great song:

After you get past the fact that they have-um-terrible voices, I absolutely LOVE this song. I like 5 Seconds Of Summer's cover better, but I like this version a lot too. I mean, it's the original, you know.

Also, enjoy some of my favorite GIF's right now:

What do you mean they're all Ten and Donna GIF's? OH YEAH CUZ IM SUFFERING FROM POST-DAVID TENNANT DEPRESSION NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!

*deep breath* I'm alright. Really I am. -(Not)-

Anyway, Rosie, I can't wait to read your post tomorrow- ALSO, PSYCH PREMIERS TOMORROW! ARE YOU AS EXCITED AS I AM?! CUZ YOU SHOULD BE! That's all.
xoxo, Mercy

Monday, January 6, 2014

We hung out this weekend and took pretty pictures.

Hey hey heyyy!
I only put this picture up because I feel as if it describes the Foursome very accurately.
Mercy: radiating charisma. But her real happiness in this picture came from recently watching the One Direction movie.
Grace: being adorable. Also giggling at everything (the only reason we are friends is because of our mutually inappropriate senses of humor).
Me (Laura): forcing a happy, compliant face but secretly mocking everything under the surface. Also looking fabulous. I always look faaaabulous ;)
Rose: off doing her own thang, having a panic attack about something weird, and talking. Also fangirling about the 1D movie.

here's a better picture from Saturday. I believe that is Ethan with his fingers behind my head. And my dad's bald spot can be seen glowing over Rose's shoulder. Whatever. It's like 1 of 2 nice pictures taken of the Foursome ever.
Anyway, I'm going to make this post short because my mom's laptop needs to be charged and I'm sitting in the coldest corner of my room, which is also farthest away from a plug outlet. Freaking technology. I place the blame on outdated electronics rather than my own stubbornness.
Grace, Mercy, Rose: I love you girls and enjoyed each of your posts last week. They were funny and inspiring and I am so excited to start 2014 off like a boss. Also G&M, I cannot wait for February. I love seeing your faces on the Internet, and hearing your voices on the phone, but in just 42 days I can touch your faces and watch you talk in person (I know that was creepy but I also know y'all can forgive me;).
I honestly had no idea what to write about today. Mondays always surprise me. After a rigorous first day of my last semester of high school (*cries in the fetal position*) I figured I would write something cute and vague as usual, but then my home life got crazy, and I hung out with my neighbor, and my friend called with a giant family crisis, and my sister and her lanky biker-friend had an argument with my mother about the American education system over dinner.
Just another typical day in my life.
My memoir will one day be called: Wait, What the Heck? The Story of A Young Girl's Awkward Childhood (I'm thinking by the time I'm old enough to write a memoir I'll be past my awkward stage).
It's funny, because I have been praying a lot lately for God to surprise me, to make it easier for me to surrender to Him. I have found that whenever I ask God for something He always responds in the most ironic ways imaginable, as if he enjoys making my want to groan with frustration and laugh and love Him evermore deeply, all at the same time. I asked for surrender, and what did I get? Overwhelming distractions and drama.
But in the middle of my rainy Monday, when anxiety got the better of me and I beat myself up for wasting time and screwing up, I felt the need to pray, and to simply pray the words Thy will be done.
Thy will be done. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
I worry about the future. I imagine my first day of college, and worry that I'll have no friends, or my roommate will hate me, or guys won't take me seriously, because I'm an apparently naive Christian girl who has never dated. But why should I overthink everything when God has my future plans in His hands? I find that the upcoming events I spend less time thinking and stressing about and building up expectations for are always the more enjoyable ones. But I have a sin nature, like everyone else, so I overanalyze and plan when I should just go with the flow. But like everyone else, the Creator of sunsets and springtime awakenings loves me unconditionally.
Things are probably going to be fast-paced and crazy this semester. I have to make my Final College Decision, get senior pictures taken, apply for jobs and scholarships, knit a baby shower gift for my small group leader, start running with my neighbor-friend again. and go on my youth group retreat a week from Friday, to name a few. I could factor in eating and sleeping, but you know what? God's got this. I need to spend less time thinking and more time doing and living my life for His glory.
Mercy, I know you hate writing after me, but I can't wait to read your post tomorrow. It will be fabulous, just like your pajama jeans.

First post of 2014

Dear Laura, Mercy, Rose, and whoever else might be reading this,

Well, it's January 2nd and so far, it has been a fantastic year. Yesterday, Mercy and I went ice skating with Abbie and Hannah and some of their friends and it was really fun. I wasn't sure if I should go but it turned out to be really really fun. And I saw the cutest guy in the history of cute skater guys. I've been wanting to move to Simsbury and hunt him down. It's bad.

Anyway, Laura I loved your post. It inspired me to have a great year and truthfully, I was really scared of this year. But I've warmed up to it and I'm actually extremely happy that 2013 is over because this past semester was awful. School was hard and my friends were dramatic and I was sad and upset a lot of the time. But this year I'm going to try to have a super great time. I don't like New Years resolutions and if you read my blog post on Adventure is Out There you can see what I'm doing instead.

There are a few things I want to do this year that I don't count as resolutions:

read more classics
learn TPG on piano
cook more
learn to drive

Mercy and Rose, you two are basically the same person and it scares me also. Both of your posts were as fantastic as you are.
And now I'm going to pull a Mercy and Rose and put up a ton of GIF's to describe just how FREAKIN' EXCITED I AM TO SEE YOU GUYS ON SATURDAY!!!

this is a much better Doctor Who GIF than the one Laura put up. That was just cruel.

We are going to eat, and possibly cook or make drink disasters, and we are going to give each other awesome presents, and we're going to watch 'Doctor Who' and 'Bride and Prejudice' and we're going to laugh and probably cry and take walks or break the hammocks again and its going to be so much fun and I just can't take this asdfghjkl.

*takes deep breath*

*breaks out in large Asian Burrito smile*

*tries to focus on post*

*fails*

*takes another deep breath*

*takes sip of ice cold coffee*

*freezes mouth from coffee*

Well I know this is short, but my fingers are about to freeze from being out in the cold air for too long so I shall say farewell and wish you all the best January 2nd Thursday of all time <3 Grace

this is my wish for anyone and everyone reading this post

I watched Mean Girls yesterday...

It's hump day!

Wow guy, I feel like I haven't posted since last year. I'm such a rebel, I haven't done school since 2013. Ha.Ha.Ha. I freaking hate New Years puns. But if I have to suffer through them them so do you.

I've been planing what I'm about to write in this post since....Monday? But, because of my busy social calender (read: mourning Rose Tyler/procrastinating/zoning out) I forgot to read Laura and Mercy's posts. So to make up for it, I'll reply to those first, even though they were written last year and are there for no longer relevant. (I SWEAR I'M KIDDING! I'M JUST IN A SASSTASTIC MOOD TODAY!)

Gracie: Your post from 2 (?) weeks ago was wonderful. It really helped me not be so CharlieBrown-ish this Christmas.

Laura: In  answer to the question you have asked me 3 times, I'm allergic. (PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS PERSONALLY! IT KEEPS COMING UP! LIKE WORD VOMIT! Your post was beautiful, here's some David to make up for my vomit)

He's applauding your post!

Mercy: We're literally the same person.

Anyway, Happy 2014! Since this is the first post of the new year I'm going to write it (pause for dramatic effect) about  the new year. To be perfectly honest, New Years scares the living crap out of me. Probably because all I can think about is the up coming year and all the terrible things that can and will happen.

Terrible things that can happen

  1. The apocalypses.
  2.  The plague.
  3. Mercy could stop being a fangirl.
  4. Laura could start being stupid.
  5. Grace could become goth.
  6. More of my favorite bands could go on hiatus's.
  7. Canada.
  8. Turtle out break.
  9. My life could become Little House on the Prairie.
Terrible things that will happen

  1. Laura will graduate and leave me to die.
  2. School will start again.
  3. Turtles will continue to live.
  4. Highschool students will still be stupid.
  5. Jensen Ackles won't be married to me.
  6. I'll have to suffer through an entire season of Martha on Doctor Who.
Of course, none of this is guaranteed. For all I know, the plague will break out and kill all the turtles and Jensen Ackles wife and school and everything will be wonderful!!!!

But, chances are good I'm right. Chances are good, that school will start, and life will go on sucking.

I should make that my New Years resolution. I should stop being so dang depressing all the time. After all there are some things to look forward to this year.

Fantastic things to look forward to this year
  1. I'll get my own room....kinda.
  2. Mary-Kate will be home all the time!
  3. Grace will get her apparition licence and come see me!!!
  4. I HAVE A SUPERNATURAL CALENDER AND THEREFORE GET TO STARE AT SAM AND DEANS FACES FOR 13 MONTHS!
  5. I only have 3 and a half years left of highschool!
  6. The first annual foursomeaversary is coming up!
  7. We will write another round story.

Well, I need to sleep. I'm so looking forward to your post Gracie!!!!!  -Rosie?
