My mind wanders like a lost sheep named George.

It's Hump day!

WE'RE ALMOST DONE WITH MARTHA AND ALMOST
TO DONNA AND I CAN'T!
Today finds me in my pajamas, trying to write a blog post, procrastinating on tumblr, and listening to Twin Forks, this fantastic band John introduced me to. Essentially, it is a terribly normal, rather boring Wednesday. I'm going to reply to your posts now. Except for Grace's because it was a letter to Laura.

Laura: Your post was scattered, but rather fantastic. All the TFIOS pictures made me want to curl up in fetal position and cry for the next 7 years of my life.

Unfortunately  I can't do this because I have to like, graduate high school and such.

Mercy: Your post was wonderful. And I completely respect the "I don't want to grow up" thing. I wish to stay young and stupid forever. Unfortunately, this is not an option in world in which we live. But I sure as heck wish it was.

So, I finished school, kind of, for the Summer...yesterday? But I feel like crap, because I caught the stupid Ege disease. Not that it wasn't worth it to go to their house, but I feel like I'm going to cough up an internal organ. This is not the best way to start my Summer vacation. Not that it prohibits my social plans, because let's be honest here, I don't have any social plans, but I wish I could sit outside on a hammock and read a book, but I'm sick and that sounds like far too much effort. Not to mention it's been cloudy and gross. Like me. The weather seems to feel like I do. Which reminds me of the Relient K song that I was obsessed with back in  *shudders* middle school.

Although being sick has it's advantages, I can get anyone to do anything for me if I just cough a little. Basically, I'm just bored with my life. I just wish that by reading books I could literally become the main character. But I am stuck in a constant reality, without an escape. And I love it. But I hate it. My mood is like to weather: ever changing.

As it is Wednesday, it's time for my Woman Crush. Now today my woman crush is the main character from Much Ado About Nothing, Beatrice. Both of the main charterers from Much Ado About Nothing are just so human. Because I'm a woman I obviously relate more to Beatrice because she's a woman. She's so really sassy and sarcastic, essentially, Shakespeare wrote me 400 years before my birth. Clearly, he was a Time Lord.

Well I have to bounce, but first here's a song by that awesome band I talked about previously.

Grace, I'm looking forward to your post tomorrow! I miss your cute little face! Gurl please -Rosie

I am not okay. I don't want to grow up.

Good morning gurls, it's Tuesday
I can't stop laughing
That's a gif of someone eating cotton candy backwards. I can't get over this, it's hilarious.

ANYWAY- I'm only replying to Laura's post, cuz Rosie and Grace's were just like letters to Laura... (although I did like them!)

Laura, I did not appreciate you comparing me to a pimple.

But the rest of your post was really lovely! Especially all the TFIOS references, you know, I just loved being reminded of my everlasting pain!

ANYWAY.
moving on.

Song challenge thing.

3- A song that reminds you of one/both of your parents.

Okay, for my daddy....

Because classic rock is his thing. (Kidding, Jazz is his thing, but pretty much EVERY jazz song reminds me of him, so.. that'd take way too long.)

And for Mummy-
Because my mother loves Fleetwood Mac and she always listens to them... but honestly, this is actually a great song. (So is the Steely Dan one)

So, I'm currently listening to The Fault In Our Stars movie soundtrack and it's so beautiful and it's like all my favorite type of music (indie/folk) and I just want to cry right now. Is that okay? (OH GOD THAT WORD AGAIN!!!)

Okay, so I'm like seriously tired at the moment and am in a sort of weird state because I went to my very, very, very last day of school and that means... I'm not gonna see my school friends till the fall. (except the ones that I'll probably hang out with over the summer.)
But it's just weird to me.... I don't know. I just feel like this year went by so fast... I'm kinda scared to be a sophomore in the fall.. I don't want to grow up, I honestly don't.
I just.. augh. I don't like talking about it.

Just watch this funny video by my favorite male British youtubers.

I love him so much, he's adorable.

AH, okay, so Lydia just brought me back a mini cupcake and it was DELICIOUS MMM.

AUGH Rosie, I tried finding the Sambrita song for you on Youtube but I CAN'T!! AJSDHAKJSHDKAJhd #mad.

So, this post is really short and lame, but I was like procrastinating up until like twenty minutes ago and I didn't really know what to post about, so yeah...
Sorry for being lameeee, hahaha.
Anyway, Rosie, I can't wait to hear from you tomorrowwww! <3
xoxo,
Mercy

I am about as organized as the subway systems in NYC.

hello it is I!
explanation.
also look what else I found in Google Images.
hipster Instagram bagel pic ;)

#perspective

I swear I had good and serious intentions for this post, but then I Googled 'hello it is i a simple bagel' and LOOK AT ALL THE FUNFUNNY THINGS I FOUND! I thought they all belonged on Our Thoughts Are Stars, because we are fun and funny people with weird senses of humor, and so are (I hope) our lovely followers.
Anyway, I'm back! The Foursome's lives are pretty much back to normal- Rosie is home from spending the week at the Ege's, and I returned from freshman orientation on Tuesday afternoon. We went as a group to see The Fault in Our Stars yesterday, and...yeahh...let's just say that it was
the biggest understatement of the decade.

But then we got to help with the grad night at G&M's church, to get service hours for The Hartford Project, and we got to meet some of the cool people who are lucky enough to be friends with the Ege gurls, some of whom we will be spending the week with at the end of the month, and for that I am definitely very excited. So after that I started to feel a little more

Seriously, some of the artwork created by TFiOS fans is beautiful.
this looks like something Rosie would do!
I need to focus. Sorry, readers and Foursome members, for my rabbit-trailing. I guess you could say
Moving on. Gracie, Mercy, and Rose- I loved your letters, both the ones you wrote on this blog as well as the actual ones you snail-mailed to me, half of which arrived on Saturday and the other half came just now. It warms my sarcastic little soul to know that you gurls missed me. It honestly made me feel more optimistic about college, because now I know y'all won't forget about me. So, even though you three left and hung out without me all week, God made something awesome and reassuring come out of it :)
As you all know, the reason I could not sleepover at the Ege's last week was because I had orientation at SHU. And I want all of our probably very concerned readers to know I survived. Actually, I more than just survived- I had a blast. I made friends. I connected with some faculty. I even found a very nice and normal-seeming girl to room with in the fall! I was so worried about the whole school experience, but now I am confident that I will do just fine next year. I am so ready to go back, yet also looking forward to a somewhat relaxing summer, in which I will slowly say goodbye and sleep in and read old books by the light of every fiery sunset.
I didn't just pine after the company of my best friends all last week either. I did churchy things and went out for frozen yogurt with Miss Megan on Thursday, the day she finished high school and the day before I did as well. I took my final final Friday morning, so SWIGGETY SWAG, THIS GURL'S A GRAD!
so freakin excited.
IM DONE BEING HOMESCHOOLED FOREVER HOW WEIRD IS THAT??
the most excited Sam Winchester GIF I could find. #WeeklyDoseOfJarPad
Also, I'm going to rabbit trail again, because LOOK WHAT I FOUND:
here we have facially-haired Jensen Ackles dancing...
...and HERE we have Tom Hiddleston dancing in similar fashion.
    Coincidence? I think not.
It's good to have survived orientation. It's good to have officially finished high school. It's good to have Rosie home again. And it's good to have a whole summer full of possibilities and adventures lying ahead of me, a lot of which will hopefully involve the Foursome. We have already tackled my graduation party, TFiOS, and all the sobbing that Mercy and I did during said movie. Only God knows what other amazing things we are going to accomplish.
Mercy, my darling, my crying buddy, the sometimes annoying pimple on the face of my life- I can't wait to read your post tomorrow. I'm sure whatever you write about will be much more coherent and organized than this. You do not have a tough act to follow. Ciao <33

ONE MORE DAY

Good morning Laura,
yes, I'm writing this in the morning and not procrastinating until the afternoon like I usually do. Why? Because I'm not doing school this week. Why? Because Rose is here AND YOU'RE NOT! (just in case you somehow missed the fact that we're all together and you're not here... I thought I'd remind you.) and it's heartbreaking. Someone took the graham cracker away from our peanut butter s'more and now we're just kind of everywhere and making a mess (literally) in the house and (mentally) in our minds. I'm going to make a list of things that you (Laura) add to the group.

  1. In-depth conversations. Not many of those have happened this week.
  2. Motivation. We kind of just sit around and have no motivation to actually do anything. Every once in awhile we will walk to the park. But not very often
  3. Food. We haven't cooked anything yet, except tuna fish sandwiches and a butter beer drink disaster
  4. A sense of normality. The balance between weird and normal is completely gone. Laura, you'd probably die if you were here. It's really hard to keep Mercy and Rose from going completely insane.
I'm sure there are other things, I just can't think of any more because my brain is pretty asleep. And don't go thinking that I think you're the only normal one in the group because let's be honest, you're not that normal. You just help balance Mercy and Rose's lack or being normal.

So, in the spirit of the TFiOS release that is happening soon, I'm listening to all the music that is in the movie trailer that I found on Spotify. And now I found the whole movie soundtrack on Spotify (MERCY JAKE BUGG SINGS A SONG AND I'M LISTENING TO IT) except Ed Sheeran's song isn't available in the US which stinks because it's the best song ever. I guess that's what we get for not letting the UK see TFiOS until July. They withhold music from us.

and now for some best friend/sister gifs because they're the best

I want to do this for all of our phone conversations

Oh, and I forgot to reply to your posts so I guess I'll do that before I say goodbye because I might be kicked off of the blog if I don't. So here goes

Laura, your post was wibbly wobbly timey wimey but good. It got me thinking about writing to my past self and even though I'm only 16, I was thinking of me at the beginning of Sophomore year because over that year and this year, I've changed in tremendous ways and I've gone though a lot of things. Both amazing, wonderful things and some seriously crappy things and it's nice to know that insecure, naive, younger me was able to make it though and grow into something a little less naive and and little bit more confident in her family, friends, God and most importantly, herself.
And to your past self, you're party was pretty grand. We ate a lot and laughed and even though we didn't spend every second together, it was still nice to celebrate your accomplishments with you, your family, and your friends.

Mercy and Rose, spending time with you gurls is great and weird and MAYOnaise and tripping and tentacles and dancing gracefully and imaginary friends and most importantly Glayglow Men. Laura, we might have to tell you about Glayglow Men, but not until you get here. And I can already hear your snarky voice moaning "I hate you all" when we describe Glayglow.

I hope the next time we're all together is when we can jump up and down because we're going to see TFiOS together. But until then, I love you all and I'm glad that we have this blog, and Tumblr, Pinterest, texting, FaceTime, Facebook and the other various ways to stay in touch over this weird week. But I'm even more glad that we shall be reunited sooooon <3 Grace

ps- dear followers, go check out our 'Stalk Us' page. it's pretty stalkerish and there are many other scary websites that you can find us on. we're branching out to the other corners of the inter-web

2 days. Only 2 days.

Hey Laura! It's hump day!

I'm only using Supernatural gifs today
I miss your stupid face. It's weird that you're not here. Just weird. Like it's like the Foursome is a pastry and someone cut the middle out and now we're a doughnut. I'm not about that doughnut life. Nope. Well, I'm going to reply to your posts, okay? Okay. 2 DAYS! 2 FREAKING DAYS! ASDFGHJKL;'

Graceslalom:  I agree that the education system is screwed up. Thanks Obama. This is why I want to be a teacher in another country because the American education system in crap.

Laurasiri: Your post was awesome. And confusing. It was like it was written while you were traveling through time and space with the Doctor and then you wrote it. Does that make sense? Well it does to Rose.

Mercylimpy: Your post, which I just read 0.5 seconds ago while you were watching me, which sounds creepy but it isn't, was super good. And it's nice to know that there is a name for our creepy One Direction addiction.

So, sister dear, I am going to write this post as a list of all of the things you missed/are missing.
  • Grace and I made a butter beer drink disaster today. It was disastrous because we made such a small quantity. It was pretty good tasting though. Sweet, yet satisfying.
  • Mercy, apparently had an imaginary army of noodles as a child. Noodles. Maybe Shank is her dad...
  • On  the subject of imaginary friends, Grace, Mercy, Judah, and I were having a conversation about imaginary friends on Monday(?) night and I told them about Banana Cake, Vanilla Cake, and Chocolate Cake, (my childhood imaginary friends, if you don't remember) and they told me I was weird. May I remind you of the last point?
  • Millie. You missed meeting Millie. SUCK IT.
  • I miss Laurajay. That has nothing to do with anything else. But I miss her beautiful face.
  • I made all the Eggs watch Loves Labors Lost, and they all thought it was really weird. And Mercy fell asleep during it.
  • Our epic Costco adventure. I have one thing to say about this and one thing only: MAYOnaise.
  • Lydia calls linking arms tentacling. So now every time we want to link arms with one another we say "Tentacles?" "Tentacles." 2 days. 2. Nope nope nope.
  • The curly one and I watched This Is Us today while the Burrito was buby sutting, and if you were here you would have watched it with us, and become a Directioner. And just nope.
  • We've been doing a bunch of question and answers like from TFIOS such as, "MAYOnaise?" "MAYOnaise."
And on that note, Rose is going to fangirl about TFIOS.

I want to watch it now. It's even harder to wait now that it only comes out the day after tomorrow. I want to see it so bad. John Green said he really liked it so it must be good, but what if it's wildly different from the book? What is Augustus has 2 legs? What if Isaac only comes in like once? I just. I want to see it so bad. But I don't want to see because it might be wrong. I'm just confused. And scared. And excited.

Now it's time for Women Crush Wednesday.
So today's WWC, is actually a man. Castiel from Supernatural. I mean not only is he hilarious, but he's very talented. And adorable. And sarcastic. And he doesn't understand humans. So basically, he's me. Therefore, making him a female.

Laura, I miss your face. I'm so excited for Rice's Grace's post tomorrow, I'm sure it will be as wonderful as your face. *Makes an shocked face and stares at the ceiling for 5 seconds* Gurl please -Rosie.

We split up the Foursome

Good morning, Laura.
It's Tuesday.

here's a waving giraffe to cheer you up after your long SHU Orientation.
And you're all alone. Because we split up The Foursome.

At first, taking Rosie away for the week seemed like a utterly fantastic idea... I mean, I love Rosie, and spending a week (or sometimes more) with her is so much fun....
but then, several hours later, while Grace, Rosie and I were all sitting on the couch, preparing to watch Love's Labor's Lost, we were all like "How could we do this?!"

And we all felt somewhat ashamed of ourselves.
We were all like-

I'm quiet sad that you're not here with us, Laura. But don't worry- we're finding lots of ways to keep your involved (tell us when you get a surprise in the mail!) and we're hoping to facetime with you via the iPhone's soon :)

OH YEAH.
The song of the week. (remember that challenge thing? yeah. that.)

2- A song that reminds you of your most recent ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.
....
well this is awkward.  Because I've never had a boyfriend (or girlfriend. <.< )
How about we just put this-

Because Mr. Bag.

So. I don't know what to write about.
So today, for some reason, Rosie and Grace are having a case of clinomania and I mean, I guess that was me yesterday, but still. Now I'm not tired and they are and it's like "WHY?!"
But then we all took a nap in the living room and it was short but beautiful and everyone was happy.

WAIT GUYS. I found the explanation to my Harry Styles problem.

la douleur exquise
[noun]
the exquisite pain of wanting someone that you know you can never have, and knowing that you will still try to be with them.

Seriously though. Why must things like this exist? Why can't Harry and I just meet and he'll fall madly in love with me and we get married and he cooks me dinner (because I can't cook. Example: the asparagus incident this evening.) and we'd just be so happy together and we'd own a cat or two and live somewhere beautiful and he'd sing to me.... *sighs* I hate celebrities.

So, we're watching The Amazing Spider-man in honor of Malachi's birthday tonight and they're staring it at 70:30 and it's currently 7:21 so I have to hurry my batootie up and write this post.
Oh, but we're watching the Andrew Garfield ones. Not Toby Maguire. (in case anyone was confused.)
Toby Maguire actually scares me. Like, he honestly does. Is it because he freakishly looks like Elijah Wood, or because he sounds like a nine year-old boy when he talks? I don't know. Either way, he scares me.

Anyway, Laura, I have to go. I dearly hope that your SHU orientation went well and you met some awesome SHU'ers and that you are now so psyched to leave us in the fall- because I want your college experience to be G.R.E.A.T.

I love you and wish you were here, but I'm also glad you're getting to go to your school-y stuff and become an adult and independent because you deserve it, lovely.

Rosie.... your post tomorrow will be great, I know it.
xoxo,
Mercy

Running to the past. Like, reverse Back to The Future. Get it? Nevermind.

Just kidding.

This is Laura. It's noon on Saturday, the last day in May. I'm writing my Monday post now because the day after tomorrow, when I would normally post, I have to leave for at least 32 hours of Freshman Orientation at 8AM. I am a big bowl of excitement with a side of nerves, seasoned with some uncharacteristic confidence in God's ability to prepare me for whatever boring or uncomfortable shenanigans He has in store at SHU. So, hopefully I can figure out how to queue this post to be published sometime on Monday. Maybe I'll have it post early in the morning so y'all have all day to read it, instead of at 8:30PM or some other crazy ungodly hour. And if I can't, one of you gurls *cough ROSE cough* needs to remember to sign in to Blogger and post this for my technologically inept self :)
Mercy, Rose, Gracie- I loved all of your posts from last week! I love what G&M are doing with their personal blogs too. Seriously. If you are reading this, your next little Internet adventure should not be a trip to scroll down lists of on-sale junk on Amazon. You should go read Gracie and Mercy's blogs. They rock my socks.
    Also, dearest Rosie-
"Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I love the little infinity we have created on this blog"
You're adorable. Even if you and Mary-Kate plan tea parties and don't invite me (yeah, that conversation just happened right here in this kitchen).
I feel pretty cool because I'm writing this two days before it's supposed to be posted (update: I think I figured out how to schedule this to post. Lord willing this will publish on Monday, June 2nd, at 9:45 AM). It's like I'm sending a letter to our future selves- I have always wanted to do that. Actually, more than that I have always wanted to write a letter to my past self, kind of like my friend Becky just did on her blog, actually. But here I am, writing to the future, and I'm going to write to my past self, because I feel like it:

Dear 16-year-old self:
You're fine. Not just "stable and secure and delivered" fine, but like, fiiine fine. Seriously. You're taller and tanner and you have a not-dorky haircut. So stop smearing on so much blush, stop wearing Ben's hand-me-down sweatshirts because you don't like the curves of your hips. You're fine, and you don't need some guy to think you're pretty to believe that.
You made it. You survived high school. You are smart. Don't be afraid to tell yourself that. It isn't arrogance, it's a statement of your belief in your own self-worth. You have so much to offer. All you have to do is be brave, be unafraid of being different or loud or controversial. Once you start believing that, oh, the places you'll go. You got into an excellent University, so stop freaking out over your GPA :)
You are not your sister. People will love you, even when you're not trying to be just like Mary-Kate. And anyone who thinks you and her are exactly the same person is seriously not worth the time of day. Be yourself. You are not as outgoing as her. Accept it. Don't force it. It will take you eighteen years to figure that one out. Godspeed, my friend.
You're lovely. I wanted to say "cute," but you hate being called cute because it makes you feel inferior and unserious. But seriously. You're awkward sometimes and you get nervous, but I promise that's just part of growing up, and once you get through all of that you have no idea what amazing things God will do with you.     You learn to forgive. You learn to love bitter, black coffee, and running in the cold wind. You learn to be socially comfortable. You learn not to strive. You learn that age is only a number when it comes to some of your closest friends. You learn not to always have a crush on a boy, or to play with one boy's feelings by talking to the other one (you know who I'm talking about, young lady). Ultimately, you learn to let go and let God, trusting in His sometimes murky but wonderful plan for your life. Trust me. I know. I have literally been there, done that. You're fine. It will get excruciatingly hard at one point, but you're fine. Don't worry. Keep calm and carry on.
Love,
your 18-old-self

I feel like a Time Lord, with all of this jumping forward and backward in my life.

    Dear Future Foursome,
How are things on June 2nd, 2014? How was Laura's grad party? Did you all eat too much of my mom's strawberries and cream cheesecake? What's the weather like? Until then I remain,
    Faithfully yours,
    Laura :)
